About

Max Bartos & The Misfit Toys are a New York–based folk and Americana band blending introspective lyricism with anthemic folk-rock energy. Built on storytelling, tight harmonies, and a relentless DIY work ethic, their sound moves fluidly between campfire confessional and full-room sing-along—songs that hold equal space for heartbreak, humor, and the stubborn hope that brings people together.

Fronted by Max Bartos, whose writing draws comparisons to Marcus Mumford, Noah Kahan, Springsteen, and John Prine, the band delivers music that feels both deeply personal and widely relatable. Backed by a dynamic lineup, The Misfit Toys transform Bartos’ songs into high-energy live performances, becoming known for shows that blur the line between audience and performer and turn crowded rooms into shared, communal experiences.

Over the past several years, the band has built momentum through relentless touring and grassroots growth, performing across the Northeast, Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and West Coast. Their latest release, Waiting At The Crossroads (2025), marks a defining step forward, expanding their sound with greater depth and confidence. In support of the record, they completed a 30-date U.S. tour and recently wrapped a national run as direct support for Brendan James.

Now entering their next chapter, Max Bartos & The Misfit Toys have signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) and Noble Steed Music. They return to the road this July as direct support for Howie Day, continuing to establish themselves as a compelling and emotionally resonant force on the road, with new music already in progress and a fourth album slated for late 2026.
